hi all
thinking about a tractor purchase for my new home of 12.5 acres and have a few questions for you guys.
1. will a jd 2210 or a kubota bx2230 be large enough for me ( we have some rolling hills which will need seeding to grass and some 4 acres of grass to keep cut ,plus snow removal on 200 metre drive / trees to plant / building work to do.
2. does the jd have glow plugs ?
many thanks for any advice as i'm totally new to tractors

Goatee; No Deere doesn't offer glow plugs, they use a 12 volt manifold heater. More than likely the newer glow plugs are more reliable than the ones I've had experience in the past, they were just a pure pain in the behind. I guess the size tractor needed depends on what your goals are for your 12 acres. If it's only mowing, snow duty, and light landscape work the 2210 will do the job, but if your thinking backhoe work, lots of l;andscape work I'd sure consider moving up to at least a 4310 or a like size in an orange or blue tractor. Is your mowing duty "Front Yard" type mowing or pasture clipping type work? Mid mount decks are pricey and a real pain to remove and re install. If your Front yard type mowing is a smaller item you can usually find a decent used rider mower for about the cost of a MMM deck and avoid all the hassle. My experience with 3pt. finish moweres has been good and I still use a Land pride for road ditch type mowing, but they just can't match the quality of cut produced by a MMM or dedicated front mount mower. ....
